I quit HuffPo after the new platform made me invisible. I had been an editor fave, nearly always on the front page. But then, the big switch occurred. Being able to post at will was cool, until I realized that not being read and promoted by the editors left you in limbo on the contributor page unless you built up a huge following . Doesn’t mean your work is good, of course, having all those clicks. But good was apparently no longer the point.

Worse, posts didn’t even show up on Google anymore. So I was writing for free, for no one but me. Medium is now my soapbox of choice for both ease of use and visibility. I am no longer screaming into the void. And I am deeply grateful.
