Began doing this on my own after several attempts to follow diets designed by others, including the “Diet of Hope” that my doctor recommended, which is monitored by physicians. By cutting carbs, I began losing immediately, without counting calories, and have continued losing without feeling deprived at all, since. Just cutting carbs as much as possible has been the most effective “diet” I’ve ever tried, and it worked best when I designed my meals myself. I’m glad I read this today — it explains the “whys” of it all beautifully.
